Recipient of the 2019 TG4 Gradam Ceoil Singer of the Year award, Thomas McCarthy is an Irish Traveller, Singer and Storyteller from Birr, County Offaly in Ireland, comes from a long line of old traditional singers and musicians who kept the tradition of singing strong.
Thomas’ love of song takes him wherever he is invited, to clubs, festivals, people’s houses, weddings, funerals, christenings, at home, down the road and over the sea. He has sung all over the UK and Europe.
